From design to assembly, every VELVET luminaire is 100% Made in Europe.
We take pride in knowing exactly where each component comes from. Our suppliers are trusted European partners who share our values: precision, transparency, and care for the planet.
By sourcing locally and within Europe, we preserve know-how, shorten our supply chain, and drastically reduce the carbon impact of transportation.
A good example is our VELVET Cyc, whose components reflect our commitment to a transparent, predominantly European manufacturing process.

Mechanical housing: fully local, within 50 kmof ourBarcelona factory. 95% made from recycled aluminum.- Painting: solvent-free, powder-based process with zero emissions.
- LEDs: purchased through distributors in SPAIN; the LED chips themselves are manufactured in Japan for their superior efficiency and reliability.
- Electronic boards (LED boards, drivers, andCPU): designed by VELVET and fully manufactured and assembled in Spain. While most electronic components are sourced from European distributors, it is true that many of the small parts, microchips, resistors, capacitors, originate from Asia (mainly China and Taiwan), as these are global industry standards.
- Optics: high-quality glass optics manufactured in Italy.
- Wireless connectivity modules: manufactured in Sweden
- Handles & knobs: made in Spain and Italy.
- Connectors: produced in the United Kingdom.
- Software and firmware: 100% developed by VELVET in Spain.
- Keypads, wiring, and packaging: 100% made in Spain, using recycled and recyclable materials.

Besides efficacy, That’s why we have no fans in our light panels since the beginning.
Our commitment to the circular economy goes beyond design. We guarantee spare parts for more than 10 years, and we provide training to distributors worldwide so they can perform local repairs easily.
This approach keeps our luminaires working for many years and reduces waste across their entire lifecycle.
